Profile:
I got my BA in English Language and
Literature in Beijing Normal University Zhuhai Campus, where I found my
interest in second language acquisition. In the third year of university, I
engaged in an exchange program in Taiwan Providence University with
sponsorship. This experience broadened my mind and acquainted me with a new
pattern of language teaching.
In 2016, with a strong passion to explore
the field of linguistics and second language acquisition, I went on to pursue
further education at Lancaster University. Throughout the year in Lancaster
University, I acquired knowledge of various areas of language teaching, such as
language testing, curriculum design, content-based language teaching and
teaching students with dyslexia. All of these courses prepared me well for a
future teaching position. Also, during my MA study I built up a solid
foundation in research methodology, which contributes to my ability to carry
out a study independently.
My research interests mainly lie in second language acquisition,
especially in learners’ individual differences (e.g. motivation, anxiety and
self-efficacy).
