Amanda joined the English Language Center as a Lecturer after completing her EdD (Doctor of Education) at University of Bristol, UK. She was one of the winners of Assessment Research Award (2015) for her doctoral dissertation project in the area of Language Testing. Her research centers on language test development process, with a focus on the teacher-made language achievement test and teachers’ language assessment literacy.
Amanda loves teaching, too. She found her passion for language teaching after she worked as an intern in a local high school. The six-month working experience inspired her to pursue her master degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). After she had graduated from University of York, UK, she became a big believer in Communicative Language Teaching. In her language class, Amanda usually applies different types of activities for students to practice their language skills.
When Amanda is not on the job, she loves walking her dog, working her way through various recipes in cookbooks, and indulging her passion for seeing new places.
