Cynthia Wang is a dedicated, patient, and resourceful educator who aims to foster learners’ communicative competence (which includes grammatical competence, sociolinguistic competence, discourse competence, and strategic competence) through interactive, communicative, and student-centered teaching and learning. After gaining her bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature Studies in Beijing Normal University-Hong Kong Baptist University United International College (UIC) in 2020, Cynthia went to The University of Hong Kong where she obtained her master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) in 2021. During her undergraduate and postgraduate studies, Cynthia was inspired by up-to-date and effective teaching approaches, methods, and techniques, for example, Communicative Language Teaching approach (CLT), and actively applied theoretical knowledge into practice. Being aware of individual differences and learners’ multiple intelligences, Cynthia strives to provide tailored lessons with reference to the needs, lacks, and wants of learners. To become a better language user, language analyst, and language teacher, Cynthia attaches great importance to the development of teacher language awareness which has the potential to have a significant impact on the quality of teaching and learning.
