Adonay Bárbara Pérez Luengo holds two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Education, a Master of Arts in the Sciences of Education, and a PhD in Pedagogical Sciences. She possesses extensive experience in leadership, research, and mentoring. She has conducted research on local studies in teacher training. She has also explored English-speaking cultures and Latin American Literature as part of university students' education. She has authored numerous articles and a book on these subjects. Currently, her research focuses on the acquisition of Spanish and English by native Chinese speakers.
For several years, Professor Pérez served at the University of Holguín, Cuba. During her tenure, she held positions as the head of the Departments of Sciences and Liberal Arts in Adult Education. She took on various administrative roles, including chairing academic disciplines, supervising student internships, serving as a member of the Scientific Council of her Faculty, mentoring students working on diploma papers and master's degree programs, acting as the secretary of the Faculty Trade Union, and fulfilling responsibilities as an editor and reviewer of literary and academic texts. Professor Pérez has also been an active leader in co-curricular activities.
